Blueberry Lavender Oatmilk

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of rolled oats (ONLY rolled oats)
  • 4-5 cups of ice-cold water
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1/5 cup of frozen blueberries
  • 1-2 tsp of lavender buds (depends on how intense of a flavor you would like)
  • Your choice of sweetener (2 tbsp agave, 2 tbsp maple syrup, or 2 pitted dates)

Directions:

  1. Add the rolled oats, frozen blueberries, iced cold water, salt, and your sweetener to a blender and blender for 20-30 seconds. Don’t over-blend the milk because it can cause it to become slimy.
  2. Strain using a nut milk bag and gently squeeze. Pour into a storage container
  3. Pour the lavender buds into a coffee filter bag and place the bag inside the oat milk container to steep overnight
  4. When ready to enjoy, remove the coffee bag and enjoy baked goods, coffee, tea, etc

Tips/Notes:

* Be sure to shake it up each time you decide to use it because separation does occur

* The milk will lose its color over time; however, the flavor will stay the same
