Delicious Bang Bang Tofu
Ingredients:
- 16 oz of extra/super firm tofu
- 1/2 cup of corn starch
- 3 tbsps of liquid aminos
- 2 tsp of salt
- 1 tsp of black pepper
- 3 tbsps of vegan mayo
- 1 1/2 tbsps of sriracha
- 2 tbsps of sweet chili sauce
- Oil for frying
- Toppings: green onions, black sesame seeds
Instructions:
- Optional: Freeze the tofu before cooking. When ready to cook, let the tofu thaw out at room temperature
- Drain, press, and cube the tofu. Add it to a bowl with the liquid aminos and marinate for 15-30 minutes
- While the tofu marinates, make the bang bang sauce using the mayo, sriracha, and sweet chili sauce. Refrigerate until ready to use
- Next, combine the cornstarch, salt, and black pepper in a bowl. Add in the tofu and coat each side
- In a medium-sized skillet, add enough oil to cover the bottom over low-medium heat. Once hot, add the cornstarch coated tofu and fry on each side for 3 minutes or until golden. Transfer the tofu to a cooling rack or paper towel
- Now, add the bang bang sauce to a pot and bring to a simmer. It should begin to caramelize a bit
- Next, add the crispy tofu to the pot and mix well. Serve over rice and top with green onions and black sesame seeds
- Lastly, pat yourself on the back because YOU DID THATTT!
